The Energy Saving Trust & Dorchester Carbon Project invite you to the 'Dorchester Green Community Launch' at Dorchester Abbey on Saturday 21st November from 2pm to 4pm.
We will have exhibitors, games, refreshments and all the advice you could possibly need to save energy and money!
The Energy Saving Trust has chosen Dorchester-on-Thames for their 'Green Communities' programme.
So go on, come along and get some friendly advice from the experts. Entrance is FREE!

Dorchester-on-Thames - Green Community Winner!

Dorchester-on-Thames has been selected by the Energy Savings Trust to be one of their Green Communities.
James Kirkwood from the Energy Savings Trust will work alongside our community for a year helping us to understand our carbon footprint and develop a realistic action plan to reduce it. James will then work with us to deliver an energy efficiency or renewable energy project.
Dorchester is one of only two communities that have been chosen from the 17 which applied from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
Speaking at a recent visit to Dorchester, James said “I chose this village because it has a strong sense of community involvement with positive ideas and enthusiastic people. By the end of the year I hope that we can all work together to bring about a significant carbon reduction for Dorchester-on-Thames.”
Everyone is invited to a launch event in November. Please keep an eye out around the village and on this website for further details.

And the award for most outrageous Eco friendly claim by a corporate goes to .........drum roll......... easyJet and their quite amazing claim that an easyJet plane produces fewer emissions per km travelled than a Toyota Prius! Oh, and “Flying from London to Nice produces 10 times fewer emissions than flying London to Miami”. REALLY?!?!? You don’t say? If you see any Greenwash please let us know so we can name and shame. |
