The Dorchester Carbon Project

Dorchester-on-Thames has been selected by the Energy Savings Trust to be one of their Green Communities.

James Kirkwood from the Energy Savings Trust will work alongside our community for a year helping us to understand our carbon footprint and develop a realistic action plan to reduce it.  James will then work with us to deliver an energy efficiency or renewable energy project.

Dorchester is one of only two communities that have been chosen from the 17 which applied from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Speaking at a recent visit to Dorchester, James said “I chose this village because it has a strong sense of community involvement with positive ideas and enthusiastic people.  By the end of the year I hope that we can all work together to bring about a significant carbon reduction for Dorchester-on-Thames.”

Everyone is invited to a launch event in November. Please keep an eye out around the village and on this website for further details.
