WHO ARE WE?

We are a small local community group aided and assisted by Community Action Groups, Oxfordshire and made up of residents from the parish of Dorchester-on-Thames.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

The aim of the Dorchester Carbon Project is to reduce the total carbon footprint of the parish of Dorchester. We intend that this should be achieved by a wide variety of measures including but not limited to public education to affect personal and home behaviour, re-use and recycling initiatives, capital energy efficiency or clean energy generation projects, the lobbying of local government and the targeting of school pupils and other community groups to influence residents' behaviour.

The Dorchester Carbon Project is also interested in making our area of Oxfordshire a more sustainable and ecologically friendly community to both live and work in.

We have already rid the village of plastic bags, held some thought-provoking film nights and organised several successful 'Recycling Swap Shops'.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

If what you find on this website inspires you to get involved our group is always looking for new members and volunteers. If you wish to attend one of our regular Carbon Project meetings take a look at the Upcoming Events page for venue, date and timing details. We usually meet on the third Thursday of every month, in The White Hart Hotel meeting room.
